CopyCover is a script designed for Amarok, allowing users to automatically copy the cover of the currently playing track to its designated directory. Simple and quick, it takes only a few clicks to use.
One of the most significant features of this tool is the "offline" version, which comes included. If you have amaroK >= 1.2.3, you can launch and run the script on the command line. It will automatically find all the downloaded covers and copy them in the correct directory, just as the amarok plugin would have done. The tool also creates desktop files for users.
It is essential to note that users should first run the script with the "-d" option (debug mode), which only prints out the actions and does not commit them. Additionally, a "--help" option is available.
However, it is important to note that the copycover-offline.py script is NOT meant to run through Amarok's script manager. This tool requires two key requirements: AmaroK >= 1.2.3 and Python >= 2.3.
Finally, the latest version of this software tool fixed queries when the database is in MySQL and importantly, ensures that the session manager does not restart the script on login.
