DVB Driver Project offers a driver solution for various DVB cards from multiple manufacturers.
First up is the Siemens DVB card, which we've developed our Linux drivers for (shoutout to the Siemens team!). This card is identical to the ones built by Hauppauge, Technotrend, Galaxis, and Katek. We also support the Siemens DVB-C card.
Hauppauge has also released a budget-friendly version of the Siemens card called the WinTV Nova, which no longer comes with an MPEG2 decoder chip. However, starting from driver version 0.8, our driver supports this card, and you should be able to receive a complete transport stream from it.
If you're interested in a DVB-T card, Technotrend has developed one that our driver supports (both the version with DSP and the Nova card). Most DVB-S cards (with the exception of Version 1.6) are also supported by us. However, the Technotrend DVB-C card (specifically the newer version 2.1) is currently not working with our driver.
We've also heard about the Telemann Skymedia card but have never seen it ourselves. Nonetheless, there are Linux drivers available for it, so it might be worth considering. Finally, for those looking for an IP-over-Satellite card, we have Linux drivers available for the Pentamedia cards.
Overall, we've got a pretty solid selection of DVB PCI cards for Linux users looking to receive IP over Satellite and DVB, so feel free to take your pick!
