YALA is an LDAP administration interface that runs in a web browser. It allows users to manage and modify LDAP directory information easily using a graphical user interface.
Some of the key features of YALA include a clear and simple interface, cross-platform accessibility from any modern browser, and cute javascript to enhance the web-interface (which can be disabled if desired). Additionally, YALA theoretically works with any LDAP server, with a supported list of LDAP servers provided in the README file. YALA reads the schema from the LDAP server and obtains many useful details from it.
YALA also supports entry types recognition, which allows configuration to recognize an objectclasses X & Y entry as a user entry with a unique icon and easy creation of new entries of this type. YALA is free and comes under the GPL license. The only requirement is PHP.
The latest YALA release includes many changes, mostly new JavaScript/AJAX for a smoother user experience. Overall, YALA is an excellent choice for simplifying directory administration that doesn't compromise on features and user-friendliness.
