GNOME-Ding is a spellchecking and translation software that helps users check and translate single words through a user-friendly graphical interface.
To add to its extensive capabilities, GNOME-Ding also features added dictionaries for de-fr, en-ar and more. However, the correctness of these dictionaries requires input from users. Additionally, it contains a German thesaurus, based on the renowned OOo, as an extension to the software. GNOME-Ding is created and supported by the Ding-Projekt, alongside Oliver Grawert's g2ding.
One of the advantages of this software is its user-friendly interface, making the searching of words and translations easy. It functions well under Gnome2 and can increase in versatility as additional languages and dictionaries are added to the program. Furthermore, GNOME-Ding is distributed as free software under the terms of GPL2. It can be freely used, modified or distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
