GrNotify is a Python-based Google Reader notification tool designed for Linux users. It keeps track of the RSS feeds and notifies users whenever there are new updates available.
The installation process is relatively straightforward, but you will require root privileges to complete it. There is, however, a non-root version currently in the works that will be releasing soon. To install GrNotify with root privileges, input the following command:
$sudo python install.py
After installation, you will have to make a few adjustments in the preferences section to set up your account details. Once you complete this step, the software will function as advertised without requiring further configuration.
