HTML::Mason is a potent web development and delivery engine deploying Perl for site creation.
One of the biggest advantages of using Mason is that it addresses many of the common issues that arise during the site development process. Whether you need help with caching, debugging, templating, or maintaining development and production sites, Mason has you covered.
Another benefit of this tool is that it's completely free and open source. While it can be used from CGI or standalone, it's optimally designed for use with two other open source technologies: mod_perl and Apache.
In terms of system requirements, you'll need Perl 5.6.1 or later, as well as the Apache web server and mod_perl package (both of which are recommended).
If you're already familiar with Mason, you'll be pleased to know that the latest release (as of this writing) includes several updates and improvements. For example, CHI can now be used as the backend for $m->cache, serving as an alternative to Cache::Cache. This makes it easier to use Cache::FastMmap and memcached for data caching. Note that while Cache::Cache is still the default for now, it's still listed as a prereq for Mason.
