Incognito Live CD/USB CD enables anonymous browsing and use of various Internet technologies.
This CD can also be copied to a USB drive to provide persisted user settings, making it more convenient to use. However, it is important to note that power users who want precise control over the application and network configuration might not find this software to be suitable for their needs.
There are two versions of the CD: full and tiny. The tiny version is designed to fit on small media and mainly provides an anonymous web browser. The full version, on the other hand, is more versatile and supports a variety of Internet applications.
The Gentoo Catalyst release build tool is employed to build the CD, which makes maintaining it easy. Updates are straightforward, with only a simple version bump and 30 minutes for the tiny CD or two hours for the full version required to update Tor. Catalyst does most of the work, and the human effort required is minimal.
Updating all the software takes several hours to compile, but it is rarely necessary and generally requires little human effort. Adding or removing software to and from the CD is also generally trivial.
The software's main applications, such as Tor, TorK, Vidalia, Privoxy, and Mixminion, are kept up to date as soon as possible. In the event of a major security issue, other remaining applications, including the base system, are updated on a roughly two-month schedule.
