KIO-FTPS is a KDE software that functions as an FTPS KIO slave. It is created on the basis of RFC4217 and built upon the FTP KIO-slave sources.
Before sending any data channel io commands ("STOR", "RETR", etc), kio-ftps tries to secure the data channel via "PBSZ" and "PROT" commands. If this fails for any reason, the data will be transferred unencrypted. It is important to note that there is currently no support for ssl-certificates, although this feature may possibly be added on demand.
The latest release of kio-ftps has been ported to KDE4. This software now offers enhanced functionality and improved compatibility with modern systems. Overall, kio-ftps is a reliable and efficient KIO slave that is well-suited to users who require secure FTP file transfers for their daily workflows.
