Legendary Legions is a fantasy turn-based strategy game featuring RPG elements.
The gameplay of Legendary Legions is similar to that of Heroes of Might and Magic, but it is much simpler, making it friendlier for novices to the genre. The game was written with allegro for graphics and uses allegromp3 for music and loadpng for png support.
It's important to note that all the units in the game have been taken from Celtic Legends, an old Amiga game, but the concept is a unique hybrid of Celtic Legends, Heroes of Might & Magic, and Civilization. Although the dragon in the menu and interface is not original, nor is the music in the trailer. Additionally, the code is not publicly available and is written in Polish.
Legendary Legions is freeware, non-profit, and has no copyright issues. The latest release brings new features, such as network multiplayer support, dynamic clouds with lightning, and the builder can now construct towers and towns. There were also performance tweaks, including a framelimiter, bugfixes, and optimizations. Overall, the latest updates are beneficial to the game's overall experience.
