The MySQL Pack is a software solution designed to enable the installation of MySQL on QNAP NAS servers including TS-101/TS-201. It facilitates the integration of the two systems, providing enhanced data management capabilities.
To install the software, you need to create a share folder named MySQL, and ensure that the real folder name and share volume name are both MySQL. You can directly create Network Shares named MySQL on the TS-101 Administration page. Next, you must upload and unzip the package file (e.g. MySQL-4.1.21-TS-101-v0.2.tar) to the share folder you created earlier. We recommend using an administrator account to access the share folder.
You can then log in to your TS-101 through Telnet, which can be found in the TS-101 firmware with telnet enabled. After this, run install.sh to install MySQL: /share/MySQL/install.sh /share/MySQL/mysql-4.1.21-TS-101.tgz /share/MySQL. To start or stop MySQL, run mysqld.sh: /usr/local/mysql/mysqld.sh start or /usr/local/mysql/mysqld.sh stop.
To check if MySQL has been successfully installed, try to connect to MySQL using the command: /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql mysql -u root --password=admin. If you can connect, it means that your MySQL server is working.
Once the installation is complete, MySQL will start automatically during boot. You can also run sys_initialize.sh to re-initialize MySQL, which won't remove the existing MySQL Pack and your database.
In this release, PHP supports sockets, and gd-jpeg errors that occurred in PHP have been fixed. Overall, MySQL Pack for QNAP TS-101/TS-201 is a simple and effective software that can help you set up a MySQL server quickly and easily.
