NAS Parallel Benchmarks evaluate parallel supercomputer performance using a small set of programs for better system comparison.
There are diverse types of the NPB benchmarks available, and NAS asks all sources for performance outcomes for each. The latest release of NPB has several enhancements which make it even more powerful and efficient.
In this release, additional tests to stress larger parallel machines were included, and new classes of issues were added to the existing benchmarks. Also, the release comes with extra statistics that are calculated from tests, allowing for better analysis.
Furthermore, any bugs or errors such as race conditions and uninitialized variables have been fixed in this release. And finally, the hyperplane version of LU (LU-HP) is no longer included in the distribution.
This updated version of NPB is an excellent tool to test the performance of parallel supercomputers that supports large scale computing.
