Newsadmin is a straightforward PHP-based news publishing system that can be used to publish news on your website.
One of the key features of Newsadmin is its ability to upload news images with the article using the news editing form. Additionally, the system features a news archive page for past articles and the option to cut long articles on the main view and read them on a separate "read more" page.
This script is highly customizable and can be tailored to different needs. Some of the notable features of Newsadmin are the ability to have multiple editors who can publish, modify, or delete news; the presence of several administrators who can add, modify, or delete editors and admins; and the option to print news with the print_news(num)-function, which also allows for the cutting of long articles with links to the readarticle.php page.
If you know HTML and PHP, you can create your custom printing function in printfunctions.php. The application is also translatable using Gnu Gettext. The translatable .po-files are provided in the po/-directory and installed in the locale/-directory.
Parsing articles through parsewiki is also an option with configuration variable requirements. However, this requires perl to be installed and currently does not work when PHP is in safe mode.
Newsadmin is also equipped with a calendar script by ikemcg, which allows for editing events. The print_thisweek() function from functions.php can be used to print one week's events on the web page. Login to the calendar with the same usernames and passwords as in newsadmin.
Overall, Newsadmin only requires PHP 4.0.0 or later and MySQL 3.0 or higher to operate effectively. If you're looking for an easy-to-use news publishing system for your web page, Newsadmin is definitely worth a try.
