Export highlighted words conveniently with PeraPera-kun extension. The latest version, Rikaichan, now features this essential functionality.
Here are a few key features of the Perapera-kun extension: First, users can navigate to the extension menu and select "Perapera-kun options" to choose where their save file is located. Additionally, when a word is displayed in the popup window, users can simply press the control key to add the top word to their vocabulary list.
Another useful feature is the ability to choose the output format (EDICT or tabbed). Users can also choose whether to append な to な adjectives, する to する verbs, and to remove kanji from words typically written in kana. It's important to note that the extension exports in Shift_JIS format, so users should be sure to open/import it with a program that can read this format. If opened under a non-Japanese Windows system, it may look like gibberish due to Microsoft's default encoding settings.
Overall, I found the Perapera-kun extension to be a helpful tool for my language studies. It requires Thunderbird 1.5 - 2.0.0.* and can be easily installed by right-clicking on the link below and choosing "Save Link As..." to download and save the file to your hard disk. Then, simply open Add-ons from the Tools menu in Mozilla Thunderbird, click the install button, locate/select the downloaded file, and click "OK". I welcome any constructive comments or ideas for improvement.
