Scons Erlang is a SCons add-on that enables the compilation of Erlang projects, replacing make/autotools.
To begin with, your system should meet the following prerequisites: Python 2.4.2, SCons 0.96.1, and Erlang/OTP R10B-10. Once these prerequisites are met, you can use SCons to compile and install SCons Erlang. Note that the Python part is not compiled, whereas the Erlang part is.
Before installation, check out the variables that you need to set by running the following command: scons --help. You will need to set the SCons prefix directory (where SCons is installed), which should contain a directory named "SCons." Next, set the Erlang prefix directory (where Erlang is installed), which should include bin, erts-5.4.13, install, lib, misc, releases, and usr. Once these variables have been set, you can compile the software seamlessly.
To install SCons Erlang, simply run "scons install." Depending on your system's settings, you may need to use sudo or su to access superuser capabilities. With this accomplished, you can enjoy the full benefits of SCons Erlang and compile your Erlang projects like a pro.
