SLAX Frodo edition provides the core console for all SLAX releases.
While SLAX is a modular system that allows people to extend it with ease, special modifications have been made available to make it more user-friendly for beginners. SLAX is a small, bootable CD that runs the Linux operating system directly from the CD or USB without requiring installation. The Live CD being described here is built using the popular Slackware Linux distribution and can be downloaded as an ISO image directly from the website. All source code and scripts are available for anyone who wishes to create their own Live CD.
The latest release of SLAX Frodo edition includes several exciting features, including the latest KDE 3.5.4 with Slackware 11 fixes for media:/ URL in konqueror. Additionally, the probeusb parameter now waits for USB devices for delay_use+1 seconds, which typically defaults to 6 seconds. Fuse libraries, which were missing in the first release, have been fixed and included in this update. Finally, the newest NTFS-3g beta version has been added, enabling NTFS writing.
