TAL/wm is an X11 tiling app launcher and window manager program.
To cater to the needs of most users, the software comes with default keybindings for the four most commonly used applications - a terminal, editor, file manager, and a web browser. However, users can easily edit 'config.h' to modify these applications or bring in additional ones, as per their needs.
While the default layout is tiling, TAL/wm offers floating windows as well, toggleable by the user as they please. This feature lets the software cater to a vast range of users, thereby boosting productivity.
Customization in TAL/wm is done differently from traditional configuration scripts or startup files. With all customization options located in 'config.h', users can edit the source code to meet their specific needs.
The process of customization is rather simple. Users can open the file named 'config.h' from the TAL/wm source directory in their favorite editor. The comments provided in the code facilitate an accurate understanding of the customizations needed, and the changes made can be saved within the 'config.h' file. Once done, users can rerun the INSTALL operation to conclude the process.
The latest release comes with various updated features such as code beautification, more optimized keybindings, and rewritten documentation.
