WikiChump is a real-time software that listens to an IRC channel like a conventional bot and updates the wiki with the provided information in real-time.
For those not familiar with wikis, they are websites that allow anyone to edit pages easily. WikiChump facilitates sharing information by enabling each page to have an edit button at the bottom that anyone can press to edit the page. This makes growing pages organically and collaboration great. My friends and I set up a wiki and plan most of our group activities, and the software allows us to quickly document important details.
Combining the bot feature and the wiki feature, I was able to create a Perl script that records all conversations and URLs from our group's IRC chat channel directly to our shared wiki. Thanks to HTML::Form module, the creation of this application took surprisingly little time to set up. To see the results of WikiChump in action, the output is visible here. Paid or free, WikiChump is a must-have software for anyone dependent on IRC chats and wikis.
