WMSMAIL is an email management software that allows users to monitor their email accounts and view their status.
To ensure that passwords for remote mailboxes are fully secured, they will be stored in an encrypted password file. The primary aim of creating this software was to develop a secure email monitoring tool, which is why the mail library "libetpan" was utilized. It provides a wide array of mail functions, mailbox types, and different authentication and connection options.
For password handling, the "pwsafe" application was used, which has been modified to a class with direct access to all the essential functions. Although most WindowMaker applets use gtk for dialogs, this applet utilizes it as well. However, the software developer prefers QT since it is easier to handle and provides more information.
While developing the software, finding significant pages that offer all the essential information proved quite challenging. Furthermore, it was observed that gtk1.2 is already obsolete, and acquiring programming information for the latest gtk versions can be even more challenging. The preference for programming language and libraries is entirely subjective, and the software developer believes that everyone should use what works best for them.
