PHP Firewall Generator is a script generating firewall for iptables or ipchains based firewalls. It is easy to use and perfect for generating a simple PHP script.
Before proceeding with using the PHP Firewall Generator, there are a few prerequisites that must be satisfied. Firstly, ensure that you have apache and PHP installed. We recommend using apache-1.3.19-5 and php-4.0.4 from Red Hat 7.1, but other versions of apache and PHP should work fine as well. Secondly, ensure that PHP is running as it should. And finally, make sure that you have iptables installed. We recommend using iptables-1.2.1a-1 from Red Hat 7.1.
To install the software, run this as root: “make install”. If the “make” command is not installed on your system, you can also use: “installme”. Once installed, ensure that the files in /var/www/html/phpfwgen/ are readable by the HTTP daemon user (often httpd or apache) and that the files in /var/lib/phpfwgen/ are readable AND writeable by this user. The script will then get copied into /var/www/html/phpfwgen/ and you can access it easily by going to your web browser and typing in the URL.
When accessing the software, make sure that the files in /var/lib/phpfwgen/ make sense, particularly the “interfaces” file. The PHP Firewall Generator will then generate a firewall script that is specifically tailored to meet your configuration rules effortlessly. Overall, the PHP Firewall Generator is an efficient software designed to provide users with an easy way to generate firewall scripts for iptables or ipchains based firewalls.
