Axon is a user-friendly software for Windows PCs, providing a virtual IP PBX system with easy installation and web-based configuration interface. It offers similar features as a standard PBX, and can be used in home or office environments.
With Axon, you can implement a scalable PBX solution using an existing PC. The software offers all the features of a traditional PBX, including allowing internal or external calls and providing advanced call queuing for call centers.
Axon provides unlimited numbers of extensions or external lines, and it supports standard PBX features such as call transfer, hold, and record. With its call queue sequencer and voice prompting, you can efficiently manage telephone calls within your business or home.
The software integrates with the IMS on-hold music and message player, and it automatically configures extensions for the IVM Call Attendant and VRS call recorder. Axon uses the open SIP standard for signaling (RFC 3261) to work with a broad range of SIP compatible phones and other devices.
Axon is compatible with IP phones that plug into the LAN, such as Linksys, and it also works with softphones like the Express Talk Softphone to make calls through your computer. Even if no VoIP services are available, Axon can link to ordinary external lines with FXO adapters.
Setting up Axon is easy with its automatic one-click installer that can set up the PBX in minutes. Configuring the software, such as adding extensions, can also be done remotely through your internet browser.
The Axon Business Edition is limited to 20 extensions and 3 external lines, but an Enterprise Edition without restrictions is available from NCH Software.
NCH Software is a leader in audio, video, music, mp3, cd, dvd, telephony, dictation, transcription, business, and computer utility software for Windows, Palm, Pocket PC, and Mac OS X. Since 1993, NCH has released over 80 products and has received many awards for software excellence.
